CollageIt 3 Pro App Reviews

Freeze and Crash!

I wasted my money buying the Pro version. The moment I add more than one picture to the collage it freezes and crashes!

Hangs Up

Hope it”s just an compatiblity issue with OS X Yosemite, and the developers are aware and on top of it. Otherwise, I just wasted my money, since I can’t get it to work.

Collagelt 3 pro

Pearl Mountain and Apple should never have marketed this app. I’ll not purchase ANYTHING by Pearl Mountain – and I’m gun-shy of Apple, too. • Whatever effect you apply to one photo, applies to EVERY photo on the collage. Frames, effects, shadows; change one – you change them all! • There is NO undo [command Z], if you delete a photo by mistake, you have to RE-DRAG it in, and re-edit size, crop, effects, layers . . . etc. • There is no GROUP command! If you want to move a bunch of photos and their accompanying text to re-design your layout, you can’t group them and drag them, nor have a piece of text stay with one photo. • You can’t edit text on the layout. You enter your text in a separate dialog box, in Courier, not the font you see on the workspace • With no group command, you cannot group three photos and drag a corner so they will change in unison to fit a space. • Forget about mixing text with photos – there’s no spell checker. • If you switch to auto-register mode, it warns you, then “regenerates” your whole layout and you can kiss all your work goodby. Switching back to non-auto does NOT return your layout. • No photo editing whatsoever. In building a collage, you NEED to set final light values of adjacent photos to create balance. It cannot be pre-set in iPhoto or other editors. I’ve been making collages for ten years. I used to use Deneba’s Canvas but it went “Windows” - only. Apple’s Pages works well – I use it a lot, and collages are pretty easy to do. I was looking for something a little quicker and came across collagist 3 “Pro.” What a rip off.

Great Time Saver

Love this app. Has saved me hours in putting together an entire trip into a few great pages to share with friends. Only frustrating part is that there is no UNDO button. If you make a mistake you can’t undo it, you just start over. Other than that, I love this App! It has lots of templates and is very versatile.

Great App for the money & Time saver

I needed to put together a photo collage & it was very simple to do. Although, there is no undo button in case you delete a photo its very simple to quickly drag it back into the file to use again. The templates are very easy to work with whether your a novice or have some experience using graphic programs, its worth the money in the end.

It’s good idea to use this app to design a draft artwork

Its a nice photo collage app for Mac, fast to make a document cover or a simple leaflet. The great point is to render a PSD file with all layers just in a second. It’s good idea to use this app to design a draft artwork (as it it fast to do), then export to PSD file for final work. In some unknown reason or just my stuipilities, I could not export PNG and TIFF formats file, it just gives me blank pictures. if the developer could manage to export doc file, it will be a great collage app ever.

Awesome app

It’s very useful to make beauful picture. love it.

Terrible App - Not Flexible

This app is terrible and I am trying to get my money back. The crop feature only makes the photo bigger so if your photo overlaps the assigned space, you are left with only part of your picture. It is not possible to change the ratio between the size of the photos beyond the very rigidly defined templates. There is no feature that will autofit your picture to the alloted space on the template.

Just use Keynote and export.

I paid for this app?! Very buggy. When you click the plus button to add photos, you start to scroll it just bounces back to the top. Even if youre holding the scroll and not letting it move it bounces back to the top. Why are imported photos automatically put into the collage? Now I have to take them all out to put them in the order I want. WASTE OF TIME! Why is there no "redo" "undo" button? Fail! Why do I have to select and import why doesnt this interface with my photos or iPhoto instead of having to go through 2 apps to get my photos into CollageIt Pro 3? I could create everything CollageIt Pro 3 does in Keynote and just export it to iPhoto. MUCH easier! Even at half off I still paid too much for this app. I cant believe I wasted time and money! Every app should be free because any idiot can create one make a ton of $ and then just drop the app and your stuck using an outdated, useless app and they’re laughing all the way to the bank. ChaChing!

Will not run under 10.10.3 (14D131) The latest release.April 10th

I have downloaded the latest version of this software (April 10th) and it will not load any photographs from Photos or Aperture. I have sent a dozen emails asking for tech support. I have called Apple tech support of Aperture and Photos and spoken to a senior support person who tried it on his computer (with both Photos and Aperture) and was not able to make it run on his clean computer. On numerous occassion I have asked the companies tech support to speak directly to the person at Apple and the only reply I received from Collegeit is it will run on their machines. I am not aware that they tried calling Apple. It will load your pictures if you drag and drop them onto the program. If they ever fix the problem I would be most happen to try it again.

Absolutely no technical support!!

I am running the latest version (claims to have fixed minor bugs) on a brand new iMac. First, its claim that photos can be downloaded directly from iPhoto is a lie. I had to drag them to a folder on my desktop then drag them into the program from there. Secondly, while working on the only project I am attempting to complete, the cursor goes crazy and becomes completely unresponsive. After a time it stops and becomes responsive again. This is maddening but what is more maddening is trying to contact technical support!. This company is as non responsive as my crazy cursor trying to navigate their program! What a joke!

Very Unhappy After Buying Pro Version

I’m not sure what the issue is. Am running 10.10.3. Is Collageit 3 Pro not supported in 10.10.3? When I select a template I can upload photos ok, but then placing them in the template is awful. They do not swap easily into another place on collage, if I click to remove photo the template text disappears first where that photo resides, resizing (cropping) is time-consuming to make photos fit, adjusting photos manually is difficult, period. It seems to me I used the free version a while back more easily than this.

Frustrating features

Some issues I hope get fixed: -I couldnt get the crop feature to work as anything but a re-sizer. Terrible feature! Cropping is critical, esp. in free mode. -The option for a 16 x 20 poster was not available. Had to go through Print command and hope for the best. Then the image resized itself to pixels somehow. -I was not able to save or export the final image without going through Preview. Have yet to print it, and sure hope it comes out as expected. -The Help menu is totally lame. If I hadnt paid $9.99 for this app, I might not have been so displeased.

Pretty good for the price.

This is a pretty good program for the price, has a few more features than the free ones, of course and the tech support/customer service is quick to respond with answers. I am happy with my purchase.

Same as Free Version…Dont waste your money

This was a waste of money. None of the features work. Couldnt resize any of the pictures and couldnt even modify any of the templates to resize one single picture. It crashed twice with in the hour of purchase. It is definently not worth 9.99 or 19.99 for that matter. (The price should really be evaluated) This app is worthless. You really get nothing for your money, DONT WASTE IT on this app. Do your research and find something better, I know I will.

Versatile and does everything well.

I have made poster collages before using Photoshop but it’s been a couple years so I didn’t want to got throught the learning curve again for one or two posters. I found this app and it worked great. I set up a special size of 16 x20” 200 ppi for the poster and made a background image that size. There is an automatic arrangement mode and a free mode for taking control. Choosing the free mode I was able to easily drag and drop my vacation photos on the poster and arrange them in every way: size, tilt, position, layer. There are many layout controls and you can even adjust the size and color of photo borders and add a drop shadow. It was actually fun to put the whole thing together. There were no problems or crashes on my older imac running El Capitan OS. The output looks sharp. The only suggestion would be an “undo” feature for when you mistake the “delete photo” button for a “close editing window” button and lose a photo holder or a way to add additional photo holders to your project in free mode. Thanks for a well laid out and functional app!

Skeptical

The free “lite” was just enough to get a feel for the program. Upgraded almost immediately and very happy with the interface and ease. Photoshop Elements can do some collages but it’s is really time consuming. Well worth the $10 and it is fun.

Learning Curve: minimal

That’s what I was looking for: something easy to learn, quick, yet effective. I have found it in this collage maker. Well worth the money. Still trying to find out how to set spacing for the text, but it will come.
